"...Iomega today announced that worldwide shipments of its CD-RW drives now exceed one million units. From its entry into the CD-RW market just 18 months ago, Iomega has risen to the No. 2 position in U.S. after-market sales of CD-RW drives.
The latest addition to the Iomega CD-RW family is the award-winning Predator 4x4x6x USB external drive (8x4x32x with FireWire interface when available). Iomega's Predator CD-RW breaks the mold of traditionally heavy, brick-like external drives with a design that is sleek, lightweight and stylish.
A leader in removable storage, Iomega began marketing CD-RW drives in August 1999. Since then, Iomega has expanded its storage product offering to include multiple solutions to meet the needs of a wider variety of customers. In addition to CD-RW, Iomega is also marketing the Iomega 340MB Microdrive and will shortly begin to market the newly announced Iomega CompactFlash and SmartMedia cards in many capacities..."
