"...VERITAS Software today announced that it has acquired Prassi Europe. Prior to the acquisition, the Prassi Europe PrimoCD technology was already a key element of the personal data availability product line delivered by the VERITAS Desktop and Mobile Division.

The VERITAS Desktop and Mobile Division will leverage Prassi Europe's leading optical media-mastering technology, global presence and international OEM relationships to further expand VERITAS Software’s market share in the desktop and mobile marketplace. VERITAS Software will continue to offer the current VERITAS Software-branded CD-mastering products in addition to the Prassi Europe-branded products, eventually integrating the product lines and product branding. As part of the acquisition, all of Prassi Europe's employees will join VERITAS Software. The cash transaction will be accounted for using purchase accounting.
