"...WEBcard Technologies announced today that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has issued the company a patent for its proprietary WEBcard CD, WEBcard CD-R and WEBcard DVD shaped card.
WEBcard's patented technology, filed under U.S. Design patent number D 435,853, is widely recognized as the industry's standard shape for miniature CDs, CD-Rs and DVD cards. The WEBcard CD has been used extensively by many Fortune 500 companies including Kodak, Mattel, Motorola, Honda and PriceWaterhouse-Coopers. A San Diego-based company, WEBcard Technologies manufactures credit card-sized CDs, CD-Rs and DVDs that contain a dynamic audiovisual experience, run on a PC or Apple CD player and include priority on-line data tracking and e-commerce capabilities.
"This patent gives universal recognition to the WEBcard as the classic shape for mini-CDs. We are thrilled to have our technology serve as the industry standard."' explains Jason Coker, founder and CEO of WEBcard Technologies and co-developer of the WEBcard patent.."
