Message Text: "...Announcing the release of the MP7125A-DP CD-RW drive, featuring the JustLink buffer underrun error prevention system. High-speed writing (12x), re-writing (10x) and reading (32x). With JustLink, you need never worry about buffer underrun errors.

As with other Ricoh CD-RW drives, maintains a maximum read speed of 32x for CD-R and CD-RW media, as well as for CD-ROM. Because CD-RW media has a lower reflectivity than CD-ROM or CD-R media, amplification circuits are more susceptible to noise. This fact causes difficulties with high-speed CD-RW reading, and currently most CD-ROM drives, even 40x drives, can only read CD-RW media at about 20x at best. However, we at Ricoh have succeeded in minimizing circuit noise in our drives by using a hologram optical system and low-noise preamp, making it possible for CD-RW media to be read at high-speed in the same way as CD-ROM media. The pickup module used in the drive delivers writing stability with 120 ms high-speed access.

A running OPC is employed to continually set the optimum laser power during write operation. The developed wobble detection system for writing has been adopted, giving even greater writing reliability. Ultra DMA33 used for the interface. Low CPU utilization, giving stability of writing. Improvements to Ricoh's traditional dust proofing design. Better door design and shape provide greater shielding.
