Message Text: Oak Technology announced today that Victor Company of Japan Limited's (JVC) new XL-R2010 and XL-R5010 Multi-Deck CD-Recorders use Oak's OTI-9795 highly integrated optical storage controller for their recording capability.

First due to appear on store shelves in the U.S. in August 2001, the JVC XL-R2010 and JVC XL-R5010 CD-recorders feature high audio quality design and one touch 4X state-of-the-art consumer recording from Audio-CD to Audio-CD-R. The JVC XL-R2010 is a slim and stylishly designed single-play CD player with a CD-recorder. The JVC XL-R5010 is a three-CD, triple-tray changer with a CD recorder, and features JVC's exclusive K2 interface, which removes ripple and jitter from the audio signal. The CD-recorders support a variety of recording functions with MIC-IN and Optical/Coax Digital input ports, along with multiple mixing functions including MIC+CD, CD+External Input and External Input+MIC.

Oak's OTI-9795 CD-RW controller with embedded CD-DSP enables the XL-R2010 to record on standard CD-recordable media (CD-R and CD-RW) that can be played in the Multi-Deck CD-recorders. The controller uses proprietary digital signal processing techniques to minimize the analog circuitry required, providing greater immunity to system noise and offering increased flexibility. Oak's proprietary architecture results in reduced error rates, particularly for CD-R/RW media. It also features integrated features for consumer audio, including programmable analog audio, digital audio and CD interfaces, as well as audio attenuation control.
