Matsushita ships DVD video camera with 8cm DVD-RAM discs

Matsushita will start selling from Feb2001 a new DVD video camera ,"VDR-M10", which supports 8cm DVD-RAM discs. The new video camera would cost around 228,000 Yen ($2,058). At the same time the accessory kit "VW-PDM10" would start selling at 32,000Yen ($289) and the 8cm DVD-RAM disc "VW-HB28" for 3,000 Yen ($27).
As for the camera itself, the "VDR-M10" based at Hitachi's "DVDCAM" OEM edition. It has an 1/4 inch CCD panel capable of 1,100,000 pixels, 12x optical zoom. With the 8cm DVD-RAM disc you would be able to record up to 1h of high and 2h of standard quality video.
