"...Zen Research, the innovative designer of high-performance, TrueX and Multibeam drives, announced today that Afreey, a leading high-performance Taiwan-based drive manufacturer has signed a license agreement with Zen that will provide them with the patented technology to produce TrueX enabled DVD drives.
Under the terms of the agreements, Afreey has obtained access to key elements of the TrueX and Multibeam drive technologies in Zen's patent portfolio and the rights to produce Zen-enabled DVD-ROM drives under the Afreey brand name. Afreey plans to be the first Taiwan company to offer TrueX enabled DVD drives in the second half of 2001..."
