Message Text: SONY plans to announce soon the next generation of their 5.25" optical drives called "UDO" (Ultra Density Optical) standard. The standard plans to come out at spring of 2001. Sony changed the phase recording type and used blue laser (wave length 405 NM) and this boosted the capacity of the media up to 40, 80/120 GB!! The drives will deliver around 4-8 Mb/sec transfer rate.
