Many Ricoh MP7040 users were disappointed cause their drive doesn’t support DAO RAW mode. However it appears to be a new firmware from Delta, which adds DAO RAW mode. Please notice that all following info comes from alt.comp.periphs.cdr newsgroup (Thanks ChaosWolf for sending it).
Please note that we don't take any responsibility about the following info. Do it at YOUR OWN RISK! Email back us however if you do it and report results ;)
Delta drives are in fact OEM Ricoh models. For example the OEM versions of MP7040A are:
Actima ARW4420
Aopen CRW9420
Delta OME-W141
Freecom CD-RW-4420
Imation CD-R 4x4x20
JCCom JCD-2044RW
Mitsubishi CD-RW 4x4x20
Delta has released v1.50 for their Delta OME-W141 which enables DAO RAW. Delta's new firmware could be used in Ricoh's 7040 (and 7060) series models. Just read the following steps:
- For Ricoh MP7040
1) Get v1.50 Delta firmware and renem the bin file to M00a140.bin.
1) Get offical v1.40
2) Extract all files
3) Start Rflash
4) Select the M00a140.bin, press next. You will be asked to push start.
5) Replace the file with the Delta v1.50 firmware that you renamed to M00a140.bin.
6) Press start. After firmware update completes shut down pc and reboot. Your CDR-W now will have new ID (Delta OME-W141). Get CloneCD and enjoy DAO RAW mode!
You should see:
Manufacturer:
