Message Text: "...Fujitsu today introduced the world's smallest, lightest 3.5-inch magneto-optical (MO) disk drive. Dubbed the "mobile MO" (model MCG3064AP), the new product, which weighs 295 grams and is only 17mm thick, comes in a compact, easy-to-carry cartridge size. The drive will cost around 50,000 yen ($467.115 USD).

Compared with its previous 3.5-inch MO drives, Fujitsu's new mobile MO is 40% smaller and lighter and uses 25% less power, thanks to the use of lighter moving parts and enhanced power management. The new MO's low power consumption also allows it to run on power supplied by IEEE1394 (FireWire) cable or PCMCIA card without connecting to an AC adapter.

Mobile MO is also the world's first storage product equipped with the Media ID function, which is designed to protect the copyrights of online digital content and digital data. The Media ID function for 3.5-inch MO devices was jointly announced recently by eight media and device manufacturers..."

Interface:ATAPI, Seek time: 25ms, Rpm: 3,600 rpm, Data buffer: 2MB, external size: 101.6 x 140.0 x 17.0 mm and weight: 295gr
