Message Text: "...Macrovision Corporation announced today that its SafeDisc PC CD-ROM copy protection solution has been licensed to over 100 mastering and replication facilities worldwide, making SafeDisc the most widely supported technology and the de facto standard for CD-ROM copy protection for consumer software and information publishers in the global market. Macrovision recently licensed Warner Music (Germany), KDG Group (France), OMD (Switzerland), DataMate (Finland), Microsoft (Ireland and Puerto Rico), Multimedia Frontiers (India), and Axiom (Singapore) to apply the SafeDisc technology to discs manufactured for Macrovision-licensed software publishers.

Macrovision recently announced the production release of SafeDisc HD, its second-generation copy protection product for the application software market. Software publishers can use SafeDisc HD to provide persistent copy protection and periodic authentication of original CD-ROMS, while not requiring the CD-ROM disc(s) in the drive every time the application is launched. The publisher can specify the time period for periodic re-authentication of the original CD-ROM. SafeDisc HD provides the means to protect the application's executable program(s), and supports multi-disc programs and hybid discs..."

CDRINFO Comment: We wonder..Why do companies pays money for CD protections when they are useless in real life? As you know CloneCD can copy Safedisc 100% ;)
