"...Pioneer Europe announced today the availability of a new 10X SCSI DVD-ROM drive. The new DVD-U04S is the world's fastest SCSI drive proving Pioneer position as leader in DVD technology. With a transfer rate of 13.5MB/s (max.) and an average access time for DVD-ROM of 100ms (80ms for CD-ROM), compatibility with CD-DA/ROM/R/RW/Extra/Video CD and DVD-ROM/R/RW/VIDEO the drive is truly versatile with multiple possible applications.
Product Manager for Pioneer Europe's Multimedia Division (Optical), Chris Tampsett commented: "Again Pioneer is proudly leading the field. No other manufacturer has a more diversified range of DVD products. We intend to continue our development bringing out user friendly, high performance products in order to sustain our position as market leader".
The 10X SCSI drive is also available in bulk version (DVD-304S) and both models are available now from Pioneer subsidiaries across Europe..."
