Message Text: Facebook's app Instagram is changing feeds to display curated content that users would 'care' about first, and not based only on a chronological order.

"This means you often don’t see the posts you might care about the most," Instagram said.

The order of photos and videos in users' feeds will be based on the likelihood they'll be interested in the content, their relationships with the person posting and the timeliness of the post, Instagram said.

This means that Instagram users would have to worry about making their posts good enough to be chosen by the algorithm or their posts could be de-prioritized.

On an average, users miss 70 percent of their feeds, Instagram added.

The change in the feed for users would roll out in the coming months.

Other social media platforms have also reorganized user feed to draw better attention from users.

Last month, Twitter let go of uniformly displaying tweets in reverse chronological order.

Facebook's feed also displays content in a similar algorithmic fashion based upon user interests.
