Message Text: Whoo-hoo for all Linux freaks: InterVideo , makers of the well-known winDVD software has announced a Linux DVD player that will be available in Q2 2000, at $29.95 and $49.95 for the developer's version. The product, named LinDVD, will allow users to play back DVD movies, interactive DVD titles, MPEG video content, and Video CDs on PCs that are equipped with a DVD drive without the need for decoding hardware. The decoder/player includes MPEG1 and MPEG2 playback, a VCD 2.0/SVCD player, and multi-channel Dolby Digital decoder. It's not yet known if will incorporate the rest of WindDVD's goodies.
