Message Text: You have probably heard about the Apex AD-600-A dvd/vcd/mp3 player with the infamous "loopholes" menu that disables region & macrovision protection. This machine has actually the very same internals as the Shinko player we reviewed a while ago. Now it seems that Apex U.S distributor has cracked under the heavy pressure, and publicly announced that the current batch will be the last to incorporate the "loopholes" menu. In a NON public announcement however (a letter to all distributors), the Apex rep. says that this "current" batch will last for...as much as they (the distributors) wants to! (-: That probably means that whoever orders whatever amount of "loopholed" players now, will get them sooner or later.

Source: i heard 2 old ladies discussing this in my local grocery shop, i don't know their name, and i can't remember their faces, anyway their quotes are unedited. (-:
