Elitegroup Computer System (ECS) reaffirmed its commitment to consumer motherboard business, responding to recent rumors.
Digitimes.com had reported that ECS’ motherboard business would moved away from the commercial market, remaining in only OEM/ODM applications.
Responding to rumors, Sunny Yang, President, Elitegroup Computer System Co., Ltd, said that the report was "untrue".
"We like to formally clarify that ECS would never give up any opportunity to work on own-brand DIY motherboard as what we always commit to our valuable customers," Yang said.
At Computex ECS showed their own brand 100-series motherboards that would come will Realtek’s new Dragon network chip onborad. However, the company's main business is at the OEM/ODM side, particularly in manufacturing mini-PCs for other brands.
