"..TDK today announced that it is expanding its line to include digital convergence consumer electronics products, and will soon introduce an internal ATAPI/IDE CD ReWriter capable of 8x write, 4x rewrite and 32x data read speeds (veloCD Model 8432ai). Of special interest to music lovers is the velo CDReWriter's combination of super-fast writing and rewriting speeds with bit-perfect 24x ripping - the fastest digital audio extraction speed in the industry.
With its 24x bit-perfect ripping speed, the veloCD ReWriter can convert a 3-minute CD track to a computer WAV file in just 9 seconds - ready to be dubbed to a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc or converted to an Internet-friendly compressed music file. And with its 8x writing speed, the veloCD ReWriter can record a full CD in just 9 minutes using All-Speed compatible TDK Certified Plus CD-R discs. The TDK veloCD Model 8432ai ReWriter will be available in the fourth quarter of this year at an estimated suggested retail price of $349.."
