"..The SD-W1111, according to Toshiba, reads and writes DVD-RAM media at 1,350K/sec, reads DVD-ROM media at a rate of 2,700K/sec (16x speed), and supports burst transfers in SCSI synchronous mode of 20Mb/sec (approx. 1.5MB/sec), and an increased random access of 180ms when reading DVD-RAM media, all due to the increased cache size.
DVD-RAM media is priced at $25 for a 2.6GB single-sided piece of media and $40 for a double-sided 5.2GB piece of media. Expect retail prices to fall somewhere in the $600 range.."
