Message Text: Toshiba's product lineup at this years IFA 2014 show in Berlin includes a new Chromebook 2 model, the 7-inch Encore Mini tablet, new Satellite laptops and an Ultra HD TV.

Toshiba announced the Satellite Radius 11 is Toshiba’s first 29.5 cm (11.6") convertible laptop that transforms between five different modes. Also key to Toshiba’s line-up at IFA 2014, is the Satellite CL10-B delivering the freedom of a light weight device, a long battery life and cloud storage, with Windows 8.1 with Bing.

Optimised for touch to help users get the most out of Windows 8.1, the Satellite Radius 11 is designed to be flexible with separate modes for use in different situations -- Laptop mode, tablet mode, presentation mode and tabletop mode.

The Satellite CL10-B includes Windows 8.1 with Bing and offers 100 GB of OneDrive cloud storage. It also comes with free access to Microsoft Office Online providing web-based versions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook. Working offline is also supported with built-in apps and the Windows 8.1 with Bing operating system.

Both the Satellite Radius 11 and CL10-B are light for ultra-mobility weighing from just 1.1 kg. There is also a full frameless tile keyboard with large clickpad on both models, for more comfortable typing and navigation in addition to the 10 finger touch support.

With the latest Intel Celeron processors inside both models or the option of Intel Pentium on the Satellite Radius 11, both deliver performance for their size to power through everyday tasks with ease. Plus integrated Intel HD Graphics and Intel Burst Technology 2.0 provide responsiveness and power efficiency.

The Satellite Radius 11 features a 500 GB hard drive and provides up to 4 GB of RAM. As the Satellite CL10-B is designed for storing documents in the cloud, a 32 GB of eMMC storage is included with 2 GB of RAM.

Both models feature a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, while the HDMI-out port allows for large screen viewing. With the SD/SDHC media slot, users can transfer information via memory card too making it easy to move important files and documents between devices.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 11 and Satellite CL10-B will be available in the EUrope during the fourth quarter of 2014.

For those who enjoy cloud storage, Toshiba also unveiled its new Chromebook – the Chromebook 2 – a 33.8 cm (13.3") model with the option of a Full HD IPS display and stereo speakers tuned by Skullcandy.

Both SKUs are powered by Intel Celeron processors. Toshiba outfitted both models with 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapters, too. The new models have one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port. The models retain built-in webcams with mics, HDMI outputs, and SD card slots.

A $330 model comes with 4GB of memory and an IPS display with native resolution of 1920x1080, while the $250 model is outfitted with 2GB of memory and a TN panel with native resolution of 1366x768. Both models offer 16GB of onboard storage and 100GB of Google Drive space.

Toshiba expects both new Chromebooks to be available for sale at retail on October 5.

Toshiba’s tablet range now includes a new Windows 8.1 with Bing tablet–the Encore Mini. At just 17.8 cm (7"), the Encore Mini is a highly mobile tablet with an Intel Atom processor and a one-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal.

The budget device comes with a quad-core Intel Atom Z3735G processor driving a TN touchscreen with resolution of just 1024x600 pixels. It runs Windows 8.1 and carries just 1GB of memory and 16GB of storage. Toshiba's 7-inch Encore Mini can be expanded to 128GB of storage with a microSD card.


In addition, the Encore Mini has a front webcam and a 2MP rear camera.
Toshiba built a microSD card slot into the diminutive tablet, so that it can be upgraded to 128GB of storage, but there’s no way to upgrade its memory.

The Encore Mini also has an 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter; Miracast support for wireless video streaming; and Bluetooth 4.0, so you can add a wireless keyboard.

The 0.43-inch tablet has a front webcam and a 2-megapixel rear camera for capturing digital photos and videos. It weighs 12.5 ounces.

The tablet should be available for sale now.

Toshiba is also also showcasing a prototype of its new Ultra HD 4K TV – the new U series which will launch in Europe during 2015. It combines an Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution display with Toshiba’s CEVO Picture. Toshiba’s personalised auto-recording feature, MediaGuide Replay, will feature for the first time on its Ultra HD range . The new U series will also feature HEVC support enabling Ultra HD content playback from a wider variety of sources.

Toshiba is also showcasing the more affordable L24 TV series, which includes the the 102 cm (40") L24 and the 127 cm (50") L24 models. Both feature an integrated media player, a range of connectivity choices and a Personal Video Recording (PVR).

Also at IFA 2014, Toshiba will launch its first wireless SSD (solid state drive), the Canvio AeroMobile. With integrated wireless functionality and a high speed USB 3.0 port, the Canvio AeroMobile is a storage hub for smartphones, PCs, and tablets offering 128 GB of storage with the functionality to transfer data between up to eight devices at a time. A long battery life allows for continuous video streaming for up to eight hours.

Toshiba is also showcasing a number of new and future TV technologies at this year’s IFA, including a 21:9 5K TV with smart screen sharing, evolutions of personal auto-recording service MediaGuide Replay and a 213 cm (84") mirror display for home theatre. Among the future home innovations is a bathroom display that highlights a user’s vital signs, transmitted through a bracelet monitor. This will be complemented by mirror displays with the capacity to provide families with weather information, appointments, and even video calling functionality.
