Message Text: "..High speed, two-stage head positioning system achieved results in experimentation promising 105,000 track-per-inch hard disk storage capacity. This should allow for 25 Mbits/square inch storage performance, roughly equivalent to 420 lines of text within the thickness of a piece of paper. This technology may help increase hard disk capacity as much as eight times. A position error of 1.2 microinches was achieved using a fibre-directed laser beam micro-positioning a mirror equipped magneto-optic recording head. The medium utilized is polycarbonate plastic.."
