Message Text: Google is expected to announce plans to bring the Android software to cars, televisions, homes and smartwatches, along with a small set-top box at its annual developer conference this week.

The two-day developer conference, which begins Wednesday in San Francisco, will be focused on the Internet-connected devices.

Google is expected to provide an update on its plans to integrate Android into automobiles, making it easier for drivers and passengers to access navigation and entertainment features available on their smartphones.

Google is also expected to unveil at least one small set-top box that resembles products like the Roku, Amazon's Fire TV, and Apple Apple TV, the Wall Street Journal reported. The set-top box will be powered by Google's new Android TV software designed to play movies, games and other content on television.

The company could also unveil a new service that tracks a user's health and personal fitness information, similar to recently introduced services from Apple and Samsung.

Among the events aimed at developers during the conference at San Francisco?s Moscone Center are sessions titled "Wearable computing with Google" and ?Build for the multi-device Web," according to the official Google I/O website.

Google may also showcase a version of Android designed for televisions.

A new version of Android operating system - possibly called Lollipop - could be also announced during the event.
