"..Memorex today announced the introduction of their latest PC DVD-ROM drive -- the MD6032. Combining a 6X speed DVD with a 32X speed CD-ROM drive in one internal unit, this third-generation drive promises the versatility consumers are demanding.
The MD6032 features an ATAPI Enhanced IDE interface for easy installation and multiread functionality, which allows it to read CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW and CD Media. It's compatible with DVD-ROM, DVD Video, CD-ROM XA, CD-1 Bridge (PhotoCD, Video CD), CD-I, CD-DA, CD-G and multi-session, as well as CD Extra.
With an average random access time of 135ms for DVDs and 95ms for CD-ROMs, it also supports Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT and is now shipping. In addition to employing CD-ROM, CD-R and CD-RW applications, users can view DVD movies, play DVD games and use DVD programs. All at a retail price of $159.99 - $179.99.."
