"..These new drives from Addonics Technologies function with PC Card (PCMCIA) and USB interfaces. The two different models announced come in a 2x2x6 speed or a 4x4x16 speed. They come standard with a PC Card interface and have an optional USB cable. That means you will be able to transfer the drive from one PC or MAC by simply disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.
This opens the gap from mobile PCs, desktop PCs, and MAC CD playback and recording. The 2x2x6 drive should be priced about $350, and the 4x4x16 drive should be priced about $460. The USB cable option should be about $50.."
