Message Text: Many Twitter and online forum users are complaining that Apple's latest iPhone and iPad software update, iOS 7.1, is draining their device's battery faster than the original iOS 7 version.

The software update birings new features including accessibility tweaks and user interface design changes, along with a number of security fixes.

However, the battery life on some iPhone and iPad devices appears to be dropping far more than it did on iOS 7.

Users on Apple's discussion forums mention significant drops in battery's charge overnight or when their iPhone was in standby mode for a few hours.

On the other hand, some users are reporting that battery life has improved considerably after the update.

We'll have to wait for an official word from Apple on this.
