More 64-bit Smartphone Chipsets Coming At CES 2014

Qualcomm, Nvidia, Marvell Technology and Broadcom are all expected to showcase 64-bit processors for smartphone applications at the upcoming CES 2014 trade show, adding presure to MediaTek and its newly released 8-core CPUs.
Qualcomm has unveiled the 64-bit Snapdragon 410chip, and is expected to begin sampling in the first half of 2014.
Nvidia is expected to start volume production of 64-bit chips for smartphones in the first half of 2014 at the earliest, Digitimes.com has reported citing industry sources.
Marvell and Broadcom are also expected to highlight their 64-bit chips at CES 2014, kicking off competition in the 64-bit chipset segment.
Taiwan-based Mediatek will also face the competition from China-based chipset suppliers Spreadtrum Communications and RDA Microelectronics, in the entry-level to mid-range chipset segment.
