Message Text: Microsoft has acknowledged a problem related to the optical disc drive of some Xbox One units and is prepping an exchange program.

Shortly after Microsoft?s Xbox One went on sale in the early minutes of Friday morning, some buyers were complaining on Twitter that their new devices were malfunctioning as the BD-ROM drives of their brand new consoles were making loud noise when a disc is inserted.

"The issue is affecting a very small number of Xbox One customers," said Xbox spokesman David Dennis. "We're working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program."

Since noise was coming out of the PLDS Blu-ray disc drives, their pick up mechanism was probably damaged.

Sony?s new PlayStation 4 also was greeted with complaints about damage that may have been introduced during shipping.
