Message Text: Foxconn is expanding its business beyond contract manufacturing towards higher-value products and services, which will include mobile games.

Speaking to the media in Taiwan, Terry Gou, chairman of Foxconn, last week confirmed that a mobile game will be available in the following six months.

Gou said that Foxconn has a team that works with HTML5 software, and added that cloud computing services would become a priority in the future.

Foxconn has recently formed a joint venture with Hong Kong game developer NetDragon.

In June, the company announced it had collaborated with Mozilla to create devices running on the software company?s HTML5-based Firefox OS. The company is building a major R&D center in Kaohsiung.

Just last week the company also paid NT$9.18 billion ($312 million) to nab a 4G license in Taiwan, marking the firm?s first venture in telecom services.
