Fujitsu has received approval from Intel Corporation on Fujitsu's range of 18, 36 and 73GB 10K RPM (MAN3xxxMC Series) and 15K RPM 18 and 36GB (MAM3xxxMC Series) Ultra160 SCSI interface enterprise class hard disk drives for use on the Intel® STL2 Server Board and an Intel® SC5000 Server Chassis.
Fujitsu is the only hard drive vendor to have 18GB per/disk technology 10K RPM devices approved and it's 15K RPM products are the first and only 15K RPM devices to be approved for use on the STL2 Server Board and SC5000 Server Chassis by Intel.
"Intel's approval of Fujitsu's enterprise hard drives gives customers the confidence to integrate our products with Intel's server components," said Mitsuhiro Okada, senior director, market development at Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "OEM's and System Integrators that require the latest 10K and 15K RPM Ultra160 SCSI hard drive technology need look no further than Fujitsu."
"Fujitsu's enterprise hard drives have won many industry reviews over the past six months beating our competitors not only in performance but also in heat and acoustics which are also important factors to consider when choosing server and workstation storage," commented Mr. Okada.
