Message Text: Nokia seems to be experimenting with its own smartwatch concepts, according to a patent application submitted earielr this year.

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Thursday published a patent application for a "multi-segment wearable accessory" filed in August 2012. The patent details a - a modular watch than can be worn on the wrist. Images show a concept where each segment of the watch would have its own display to show content (a multi-segment wearable accessory), allowing the user to turn his or her wrist to access different parts. Nokia's concept includes a device with multiple displays.

Rumors of an Apple iWatch and Google smartwatch have persisted recently, but so far there have been no official announcements.
