Message Text: Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. said Tuesday that it will launch a new product in China next week, which is said it could be the company's first phablet, the HTC One Max.

The company will launch its new phone in China Oct. 15 and in Hong Kong Oct. 16, according to invitation received from HTC's Asian marketing offices. It will not launch in Taiwan until Oct. 18, with an event in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan.

The invitations come a week after the HTC One Max received regulatory approval Sept. 30 from the National Communications Commission (NCC), Taiwan's top broadcasting regulator.

The HTC One Max will reportedly sport a 5.9-inch full-HD 1080p display, a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, a 2GB internal memory, a massive 3,300 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner.

HTC is trying to revive its business as its consolidated revenues for the third quarter amounted to NT$47 billion (US$1.6 billion), representing a 29.3 percent quarter-on-quarter decrease.

Nokia is also expected to announce the Windows Phone-powered, 6-inch Lumia 1520 during its Nokia World event on October 22.

In related news, HTC has just announced an 18 carat gold HTC One priced at £2,750 (about $4,400). HTC produced just five piecies of the new device, to celebrate the 18th Anniversary of the MOBO Awards. This very limited edition phone will be presented to the winner of Best Newcomer category sponsored by HTC at this year's ceremony in Glasgow on 19th October.

The limited edition Gold HTC One was crafted in partnership with Goldgenie founder Laban Roomes. To achieve this luxury look, the zero gap unibody of the HTC One on the front and back is plated in 18ct gold. It is polished to give a sophisticated finish and a special MOBO 18 logo is laser etched on the rear of the device.
