 Toshiba Unveils New PCs, Refreshes Excite Tablets

Message Text: Toshiba today introduced three new devices in its Excite family of Android tablets, along with a completely redesigned Qosmio X75 laptop and PX35t All-In-One Touchscreen Desktop Computer.

Toshiba released the Excite Pro, Excite Write and Excite Pure tablets. The Excite Pro and Write models introduce entertainment and productivity possibilities while Pure delivers essential performance and features at a lower price point. The Excite Write also comes equipped with a touchscreen digitizer for precision pen and handwriting. All three models are powered by Android 4.2, Jelly Bean.

Excite Pro and Excite Write models are the first Toshiba tablets to feature a 2560 x 1600 native screen resolution (300 pixels per inch) and 10.1-inch PixelPure display. The tablets also utilize Harman Kardon stereo speakers and audio enhanced with DTS Premium Voice Pro audio processing technology.

The Excite Write is also outfitted with a digitizer display and precision TruPen featuring 1024 pressure points, bringing a 'pen and paper' experience to the tablet screen. Toshiba's TruNote application provides an easy way to store, organize, navigate and edit notes. In addition, with a full version of ThinkFree Office Mobile for Android, Write users can easily create and edit documents with greater accuracy. Productivity capabilities are enhanced further with TruCapture, a Toshiba-developed application that quickly captures whiteboard content using the tablet's built-in camera and converts the snapshot for easier integration into presentations and documents.

All three Excite models are equipped with the processing power of NVIDIA Tegra. Pro and Write models are among the first to feature the NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor. Equipped with an 8MP F2.2 camera, Pro and Write models offer robust photo-taking capabilities by enabling high-dynamic range (HDR) and panorama effects, in addition to steadier shooting with enhanced image stabilization.

For consumers on a budget, Excite Pure delivers the performance of the NVIDIA Tegra 3 mobile processor.

Toshiba also offers a protective 2-in-1 keyboard cover that fits all the new Excite tablets. It features a raised tile Bluetooth keyboard and magnetized notch that allows the tablet to easily prop up the tablet screen.

Excite Pure pricing starts at $299.99 MSRP. Key specs include a 10.1-inch AutoBrite display (1280 x 800), NVIDIA Tegra 3 mobile processor, Android 4.2, Jelly Bean, 1GB DDR3 memory, 16GB internal storage, a 3MP rear camera, stereo speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro, and built-in Micro HDMI, Micro USB ports and a Micro SD slot.

Excite Pro is priced at $499.99 MSRP. Key specs include a 10.1-inch PixelPure display (2560 x 1600), NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor, Android 4.2, Jelly Bean, 2GB DDR3, 32GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, Harman Kardon stereo speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro, and built-in Micro HDMI, Micro USB ports and a Micro SD slot.

Excite Write is priced at $599.99 MSRP. Key specs include a 10.1-inch PixelPure digitizer display (2560 x 1600) featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 2, pressure sensitive Toshiba TruPen and TruNote application, NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor, Android 4.2, Jelly Bean, 2GB DDR3 memory, 32GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera, Harman Kardon stereo speakers with DTS Premium Voice Pro, and built-in Micro HDMI, Micro USB ports and a Micro SD slot.

All three tablet models will be available beginning on June 25, 2013.

Toshiba also today announced its redesigned Qosmio X75 laptop and PX35t All-In-One Touchscreen Desktop Computer, both equipped with 4th generation Intel Core processors.

The new enthusiast-class Qosmio X75 laptop is powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i7 quad core processor with Intel Turbo Boost Technology, four memory slots configurable up to 32GB plus a 17.3-inch diagonal Full HD TruBrite display and many high-end entertainment features and hardware. The laptop features a frameless LED-backlit keyboard and 10-key numeric pad.

With NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770M discrete graphics, battery-saving NVIDIA Optimus technology and a massive 3GB of GDDR5 discrete graphics memory, users can power through the latest games with ease. In addition, NVIDIA CUDA Technology unlocks the power of the GPU's processor cores to accelerate the most demanding tasks ? such as photo and video editing. Users can also load up on games and HD content with dual drive configurations up to 1.25 TB, configurable with an SSD, and get creative right out of the box with included full versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11 software.



High quality audio is ensured by four Harman Kardon speakers with Slipstream port technology that provides more bass output and less distortion, along with DTS Studio Sound. An optional Blu-ray Disc player is also available. The laptop also provides 4K UltraHD (3840x2160) HDMI output .

Finally, the Qosmio X75 includes Toshiba's Sleep & Music and improved USB 3.0 Sleep & Charge features to use the laptop as an audio dock and charger for a phone or tablet even when it is in Sleep Mode or off and a full array of speedy USB 3.0 ports to help sync, transfer and share content in a snap.

The new Qosmio X75 will be available in mid-June, starting at $1,399.99 MSRP.

The second PC announced today is the PX35t - an All-In-One Touchscreen Desktop. It includes a 23-inch diagonal, Full HD 1080p touchscreen display, a premium sound system and performance-driven features for HD entertainment and digital content creation.

The PX35t comes with an edge-to-edge glass with 10-finger multi-touch support and a base, plus a wireless, pre-paired, raised-tile keyboard and modern-looking mouse.

With up to a massive 16GB of RAM and configurable with 4th generation Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors, users can run today's popular software and power though multi-media management, school assignments, games and movies with ease or enjoy broadcast programming from a set-top box with the HDMI input. What's more, everyone in the house can share 1TB of high-speed 7200 RPM storage for videos, files, pictures and music. The PX35t is also equipped with speech recognition software to allow users to control the All-in-One PC with their voice.



The PX35t features an integrated DVD drive and pair of Harman Kardon stereo speakers. This PC has also all the ports needed to hook into printers and other high-speed devices, including four USB ports, two high-speed USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0 as well as an HDMI-In port for connecting a gaming console or set-top box.

The PX35t will be available in mid-June, starting at $1,029.99 MSRP.
