Photo Editing App for Windows 8 Modern UI, PhotoDirector Mobile

CyberLink also laucnhed at Computex the PhotoDirector Mobile - an easy-to-use photo editing application for touch-enabled Windows 8 tablets.

PhotoDirector Mobile provides users with more functionality than the standard photo editing features usually available on mobile devices. The software comes with tools to adjust color tones, crop and orient, apply instant presets with batch editing and easily remove unwanted objects. Other tools include a magic content-aware removal, instant presets with time-saving batch editing, portrait beautifying tools and HDR effects for stylizing scenes. All these features and more are included along with the basic tools such as tone adjustments, cropping and orienting, and quick sharing options to upload photos to Facebook and Flickr.

PhotoDirector Mobile also delivers additional features for photography enthusiasts including RAW image format support, selective color tuning and a touch finder window to precisely track finger movements, all operating within a non-destructive editing environment. Personalization options will also soon be available to users through a free update that will include many options for photo collages, a large selection of photo frames and customizable text bubbles.

PhotoDirector Mobile is available now on the Windows Store.

Development of Next-Generation H.265 Video Codec

CyberLink is also developing a next-generation codec supporting the new High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard. The HEVC (also known as H.265) standard - the successor to H.264 technology - uses new compression techniques to enable delivery of high definition video content that requires only half the bandwidth of H.264.

CyberLink's new codec offers optimized decoding and encoding of H.265 format video. Benefits include faster and smoother downloading and streaming of better quality video content to PCs and mobile devices, and also more economic storage and burning of high definition video.

CyberLink's next-generation H.265 video codec is now available for demonstration to the company's OEM partners. Retail products supporting HEVC will be available in 2014.
