Message Text: Google's Motorola Mobility plans to unveil a new smartphone called Moto X by October, which will be competely manufactured near Fort Worth, Texas.

The U.S.-based manufacturing plant is expectd to create about 2,000 jobs, Motorola Mobility Chief Executive Officer Dennis Woodside said yesterday in an interview at the D: All Things Digital conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

The factory will be owned and run by Flextronics International Ltd., a Singapore-based contract electronics manufacturer.

The Moto X will feature two processors to conserve battery life along with sensors -- such as in accelerometers and gyroscopes - to help it better understand what a user needs, Woodside said.

The company is also working with a company that designs electronic tattoos that could be used for authentication, said Regina Dugan, senior vice president of advanced technology and projects at Motorola Mobility. Motorola is also reviewing a pill with a chip inside that could be used for authentication.
