Message Text: Toshiba today introduced the company's first Windows 8 device designed for business users, the Portégé Z10t Detachable Ultrabook.

The device is an Ultrabook when needed and a tablet when wanted. You can switch instantly between notebook and tablet by simply detaching the screen. It is equipped with an 11.6-inch diagonal, Full HD, IPS anti-glare touchscreen display offering more screen real estate than most tablets, but all the same performance of a laptop. The built in digitizer adds even more functionality for those who want to write and take notes on-screen. Powered by the latest Intel Core processors the device is equipped with all the business essential ports needed for a "dongle free" experience.

The Portégé Z10t features an Ultimate Silver casing crafted from a high-stiffness resin and a sturdy locking hinge mechanism that keeps the display soundly anchored when connected to the detachable keyboard. The detachable keyboard includes a touchpad with Windows 8 gesture support and Accupoint, and is LED backlit and spill-resistant.

Built for business, the Portégé Z10t is equipped with Windows 8 Pro, however it also supports 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7. It can be configured with the latest Intel Core i5 or i7 processors that include Intel vPro technology, Active Management Technology (AMT) and Trusted Platform Module (TPM). It also features fast start and resume times with Intel Rapid Start Technology, a speedy Solid State Drive3 (128GB or 256GB) and 4GB 1600MHz DDR3 memory. The device is Intel Wireless Display Ready and features HD front-facing and 3MP rear-facing cameras.

The detachable tablet measures 0.49-inches thin and boasts a weight of 1.91 pounds. As an Ultrabook, the device sports a slim-line profile and weighs only 3.24 pounds. The Portégé Z10t also includes a full range of ports. The detachable tablet features a full-size SD card slot, USB 3.0 and Micro HDMI port, and an audio combo jack. The keyboard dock features full-size HDMI, RGB, LAN and USB 2.0 port. Finally, an optional cradle dock includes LAN, two USB 2.0 ports, a full-size HDMI port and a headphone jack.

The Portégé Z10t will be available for purchase through select Toshiba Preferred Partner Program resellers, e-tailers May 29, 2013 and directly at ToshibaDirect.com on June 25, 2013, starting at $1,499 MSRP.
