Message Text: Toshiba will launch a Full-HD (1080p), 1.12 micrometer, back side illumination (BSI) CMOS image sensor integrating a color noise reduction (CNR) circuit.

The new 1.12 micrometer image sensor, "T4K71", integrates both BSI and CNR to achieve a signal to noise ratio (SNR) equal to Toshiba's existing 1.4 micrometer product. It enables chip and camera module miniaturization and will contribute to achieving thinner smartphones and tablets.

The T4K71 delivers a high speed frame rate of 60 fps at full resolution, essential for continuous recording of full high-definition video.

Toshiba will be offering samples at the end of April with mass production scheduled to start in September.

Features

Model name: T4K71
Resolution: 2 mega pixel (Full-HD)
Optical size: 1 / 7.3 inch
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Pixel size: 1.12 micrometer BSI
Frame rate (full): 60 fps
