Message Text: FUJIFILM announced new lineups of the premium compact digital camera "X" and FinePix digital camera series at CES in Las Vegas.

The FUJIFILM X100S is the successor to the FUJIFILM X100, inheriting the X100's design and high-performance lens, while introduces a higher-definition Hybrid Viewfinder and a new sensor and processor.

  • 16.3 million pixels APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor
  • EXR Processor II
  • Hybrid Viewfinder (OVF / EVF)
  • FUJINON 23mm F2 lens
  • Intelligent Hybrid AF (with the world's fastest AF speed of 0.08 sec.)
  • Start-up time of 0.5 sec.
  • Shutter time lag of 0.01 sec.
  • Shooting interval of 0.5 sec.
  • High-contrast and wide viewing-angle 2.8-inch Premium Clear LCD (460K dots)
  • Super Intelligent Flash
  • Burst shooting rate of up to 6.0 frames per second at full resolution (max. 31 frames*7)
  • Focus Peak Highlight function
  • Digital Split Image display
  • Artistic filters
  • Full HD movie recording (60fps / 30fps)

The newly-developed 16.3 million pixels APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II, which increase resolution by approx. 25% and reduce noise by more than 30%, have the ability to capture high resolution images comparable to those taken on full-frame sensors. Thanks to the removal of the optical low pass filter and a new processor, the FUJIFILM X100S will produce a clear image with minimal graininess even at a high ISO setting.

The newly-developed X-Trans CMOS II sensor has built-in Phase Detection pixels for possibly the world's fastest AF in as little as 0.08 seconds. Additionally, the EXR Processor II offers fast response times with a start-up time of only approx. 0.5 seconds, and a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds. In addition, a shutter time lag is only 0.01 seconds.

Also new to the FUJIFILM X100S is the "Digital Split Image" feature, which displays dual images on the left and right to be lined up for manual focusing. This enables accurate focusing especially when working with an open aperture or macro shooting. And a Focus Peak Highlight function, which highlights high contrast areas of your subject for smoother and more precise fine tuning of focusing.

Depending on the subject and scene, users can switch between two viewfinder views: optical or electronic. The Optical Viewfinder (OVF) is useful when users want to see their subject in the same bright clarity that they see with the naked eye, or when time lag is an issue. The Electronic viewfinder (EVF) is useful to visually check focus, exposure, white balance and depth of field while users compose the shot.

  • NEW Advanced Optical Viewfinder with a Digital Trans Panel
  • NEW 12 million pixels 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor
  • Intelligent Hybrid AF in 0.06 seconds

The new FUJIFILM X20 compact camera inherits the high-precision lens and design of the X10, while featuring improved performance. With an X-Trans CMOS II sensor, EXR Processor II and newly-developed Advanced Optical Viewfinder, the X20 is packed full of Fujifilm's latest technology.

The X20's optical viewfinder features a newly-developed Digital Trans Panel. This displays the shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focusing area and other shooting information clearly, even in low-light conditions. What's more, the X20's Advanced Optical Viewfinder synchs with the zoom lens, so that users can accurately compose shots using the viewfinder even when the focal length is constantly changing.

The newly-developed 12 million pixels 2/3-inch X-Trans CMOS II sensor and EXR Processor II, which increase resolution by approx. 20% and reduce noise by more than 30%, have the ability to capture high resolution images. Thanks to the removal of the optical low pass filter and powerful processor, the FUJIFILM X20 will produce clear images with minimal graininess even at high ISO settings.

The newly-developed X-Trans CMOS II sensor has built-in Phase Detection pixels for high-speed AF in as little as 0.06 seconds. Additionally, the EXR Processor II offers fast response with a start-up time of only approx. 0.5 seconds, a shutter time lag of approx. 0.01 seconds and a shooting interval of 0.5 seconds.

FUJIFILM's new addition to its top-end series of FinePix Long zoom bridge cameras is the flagship FinePix HS50EXR, which features a manual zoom mechanism for high precision zooming over the huge 42x focal length range (24-1000mm).

Boasting autofocus speeds of just 0.05 seconds thanks to new Phase Detection pixels on its 1/2-inch EXR CMOS II sensor, this all-in-one camera is a high-speed performer and will capture images with crisp quality.

From 1cm Super Macro photography, 24mm wide-angle through to 1000mm telephoto, this lens offers focal lengths which would require several different lenses on a DSLR. The HS50EXR lens uses aspherical, ED and cemented elements and achieves blur reduction with optical Image Stabilisation, over the entire aperture range of f/2.8 to f/5.6. The lens features 17 elements in total, 15 of which have FUJINON's Super EBC coating on both sides for a reducing ghosting and flare in backlit and other challenging situations.

The HS50EXR boasts the latest FUJIFILM EXR sensor technology: a 16 million pixels 1/2-inch EXR CMOS II sensor, coupled with the EXR Processor II, which achieves twice the processing speed of the previous EXR processor.

The biggest difference over the HS30EXR is the inclusion of Phase Detection pixels on the sensor to achieve an fast autofocus speed of just 0.05 seconds in fastest conditions, less than a third of the 0.16 seconds AF speed of the HS30EXR.

A Focus Peak Highlight feature helps photographers by highlighting high contrast areas of your subject.

In addition to the 0.05 seconds AF speed, the camera also achieves a start-up time of 0.5 seconds, interval time between shots of just 0.5 seconds. And if you engage the Continuous Shooting mode it can shoot in burst of 11fps at the full 16 million pixels resolution (MAX.5frames) and 5.5fps shooting at 8 million pixels resolution.

The HS50EXR boasts a 920k dots Electronic Viewfinder . And if you are trying to take close to the ground, macro flower shots, you can switch to the very useful 3.0-inch Vari-Angle LCD screen.

The new S8200 series additions to Fujifilm's bridge camera collection feature something for everyone. Highly regarded for their high precision FUJINON lenses, simplicity and compact design, these all-in-one cameras are a good choice for any keen photographer looking for a step-up in their photography.
