Message Text: Intel's next-generation Haswell CPU is due out next year, and the guys over Chinese site EXPreview got their hand on some slides with details about the Haswell's Lynx Point chipset.

According to a slides, desktop versions of the 32nm platform will sport six USB 3.0 ports, 14 USB 2.0 ports, six 6Gbps SATA ports, and eight PCIe 2.0 (5GT/s) lanes. Two of the USB 3.0 and 6Gbps SATA ports are listed as "muxed with PCIe" meaning that they may be sharing bandwidth with the PCI Express lanes.

The low-power Lynx Point-LP chipset will habe less USB 2.0 ports (8) and four 3.0 ones. It will also have four SATA ports and 6 PCI3 lanes.

The slides also detail the power-saving states of the versions of the Haswell processors, including the the ultra low-power Haswell ULT. According to the slides, the Haswell ULT will support the C8,C9 and C10 power states and will able to drop from 100MHz down to 24MHz, saving power in idle states.
