Message Text: S. Korean mobile carrier LG Uplus last week unveiled C-games, a cloud computing based game platform for mobile devices.

Subscribers of various network services can purchase games from the C-games website that can then be played on any device with Web connectivity.

LG Uplus is among the first companies in S. Korea with a complete LTE network, and hopes that streaming games live through the cloud computing will be the next trend.

The platform offers game makers tools to develop user interfaces cheaply as they don?t need to create different versions of the same game for different operating systems.

C-games launched with 14 games available for personal computers and smartphones. They will be available on UPlus TV, the company's Internet protocol television service, in September. Working with both domestic and foreign game developers, LG plans to release up to 100 titles by the end of the year.

For smartphones, C-games is currently only available to LG Uplus subscribers using LTE networks and on Google?s Android operating system. Subscribers to other mobile carriers will be able to use the service starting next year.

The subscriber needs to buy the game only once instead of purchasing the same game multiple times for different devices.
