 Google Tries To Settle With EU On Antitrust Probe

Message Text: Google has offered to settle antitrust charges following a probe by EU regulators investigating its business practices.

Nor Google neither the EC have provided any details related to the settlement proposal.

EU Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia set an early July deadline for Google to resolve antitrust concerns or face farges.

Almunia in May identified areas of concerns related to Google's business practices following an 18-month long investigation.

In November 2010, the EC launched an antitrust investigation into allegations that Google had abused a dominant market position. Google's rivals, including Microsoft, accused the company of manipulating search results and promoting its own advertising services while demoting their rivals'.
