Message Text: Microsoft has already made available for download a software development kit (SDK) for its recently announced SmartGlass Xbox application.

The SmartGlass SDK is available to Microsoft's partners and Microsoft employees. It includes Xbox SmartGlass Studio developing platform; a JavaScript library with device APIs along with sample code.

The SmartGlass application was unveiled at the E3 conference in early June. Designed for Windows 8, Windows Phone, and other portable devices, it will connect phones, PCs and tablets with the Xbox 360 console by displaying content on those devices. The app will also work with iPads, iPhones and Android devices, along with Windows 8 and Windows Phone.

The SmartGlass app is expected to be released later this year.
