Message Text: Asus will offer owners of Eee Pad Transformer Prime a free external GPS device after issues emerged with the built-in GPU functionality of the tablet.

ASUS last January had released an update that addressed GPS lock performance, but it did not address the reported GPS reception issues.

"We understand that, in certain situations, the GPS functionality has not met some users' expectations," Asus said.

Although the Transformer Prime is not a professional GPS device, Asus will offer its customers a free external GPS extension kit, which may help improve signal reception.

Asus says the offer does not replace, alter or amend any existing warranties users may have.

The popular Android based tablet was launch in December 2011.
