BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (RIM) is hiring a
software developer with experience for building
applications for Apple's iPhone and iPad, according to a
job posting on its LinkedIn page.
The posting suggests the company may be interested in
adapting some of its proprietary applications for use on
Apple's iOS operating system.
It has been speculated that RIM could make its BlackBerry
Messenger (BBM) instant messaging service available on
rival platforms including Android and Apple.
According to the LinkedIn post, the candidate would
"create exciting enterprise applications for distribution
on the iOS platform" and would be "capable of
architecting, designing, developing and testing complex
applications for iPhone and iPad devices."
However, the Waterloo-based company clarified that the listing is related to RIM?s upcoming BlackBerry Mobile Fusion platform, which will allow IT administrators to manage not just BlackBerry and PlayBook devices, but those running Android and iOS operating systems as well. |
