Message Text: Google is expected to launch a cloud-storage service that would rival Dropbox, the Wall Street Journal reported today.

Google's storage service, called Drive, would allow people to store photos, documents and videos on Google's servers so that they could be accessible from any Web-connected device. The service will be free to consumers up to a certain size limit, and would also be folded into Google Apps for enterprise customers, according to the report.

Google is currently allowing users to upload files of any type to Google Docs, giving them a Dropbox-like service. Unlike Dropbox, however, which offers 2GB free storage, Google Docs' storage offerings have limitations.

Drive will reportedly launch in the coming weeks or months.

Google has not commented on the report.
