Message Text: Samsung will be doubling its recruits in the non-memory chip sector in line with the company's latest decision to expand non-memory investment to seven or eight trillion won next year.

According to information obtained by Maeil Business Newspaper, Tuesday, Samsung will be hiring 230 new personnel for its non-memory semiconductor division this year and expanding payroll to 370 - 500 by next year.

This is part of the company's efforts to shift focus to its non-memory sector. The company hopes to raise its market share in the mobile chip market, which includes chips equipped on Apple and Samsung smartphones, from 35 percent to 49 percent next year.

Samsung Electronics may enter the world's top three ranks for non-memory chipmakers after Intel and Texas Instrument (TI), predicted industry officials.
