Futuremark has provided the first pickings of PCMark 7, the next iteration of its system benchmarking software.
Coming this spring, the new benchmark suite has been designed for Windows 7 OS and will include more than 20 individual workloads covering storage, computation, image and video manipulation, web browsing and gaming. These workloads are combined into a range of suites each giving a different view of a system?s performance.
Common use performance is measured by the Entertainment, Creativity and Productivity scenario suites. Component performance is measured by the Computation and Storage hardware suites.
The software will also incldue a Lightweight Suite, which can be used to measure the capabilities of entry level systems and mobility platforms unable to run the PCMark suite.
