 NEC Unveils Android Notebooks

Message Text: NEC will release a new mobile device that runs on Google's Android operating system and comes with a keyboard, teh company announced on Tuesday.

The new LifeTouch Note has a 7-inch touch-sensitive LCD screen and comes with a keyboard for easy typing. NEC claims that the energy-efficient notebook is offering users up to nine hours of operation (internet browsing) with a single charge.

The device also includes software for posting for blogs and other social networking services.

The LifeTouch Note will be available in Japan in three versions with an expected retail price between 40,000 yen ($482) and 55,000 yen.

The most expensive version, which can use a cellphone network for data communication, will be available from late April.

The other versions feature WiFi connectivity and will be released March 10.
