Message Text: Intel said Tuesday that US anti-trust regulators have cleared its acquisition of computer security firm McAfee.

"The Federal Trade Commission has concluded its review of the proposed McAfee transaction and has cleared it. We are continuing to work with the staff at the European Commission as they continue their review," Kevin Sellers Vice President, Investor Relations at Intel said in a note on Intel's investor relations website.

However, the deal is still being examined in Europe.

"We are continuing to work with the staff at the European Commission as they continue their review," Sellers added.

Intel announced its plan to purchase McAfee, one of the world's largest anti-virus software companies, in August.
