 New Acer Veriton Nettop Line Packs Dual Core Processing and Discrete Graphics

Message Text: Acer today expanded its line of Veriton nettops for the U.S. professional market with the Veriton N282G, a powerful new model for viewing HD content and the Veriton N281G, an update to Acer?s first commercial nettop.

The new Veriton N281G and Veriton N282G ultra-compact nettops conserve energy, work space and due to a screw-less chassis, total cost of ownership. The new nettops come with Windows 7 Professional and will be available via Acer?s authorized resellers in October with prices beginning at just $399.

Veriton N282G-UD525W

The Veriton N282G-UD525W combines an Intel Atom dual-core processor D525 (1.8GHz), 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and NVIDIA ION 2 graphics for efficient multitasking and showcasing full 1080p videos. With the ION GPU, users can enjoy full HD video on sites like YouTube HD or from Blu-Ray discs. It also boosts performance of editing and converting videos and photos. Outfitted with a 320GB hard drive, the Veriton N282G has plenty of storage for archiving large digital files.

Veriton N281G-UA425W

Ideal for basic office tool users, the Veriton N281G-UA425W comes with an Intel Atom processor D425 (1.8GHz), 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150. The 320GB hard drive has ample room for storing important files.

To maximize space, both nettops boast a unique design that can be mounted on a stand or attached to the back of various displays with a VESA mounting system. The VESA mount offers vertical adjustment, so users can access the power button and memory card reader from the top of the display.

The design also features neat cable management, quiet operation and a screw-less chassis to ease upgrades and maintenance. A OneButton Recovery reset pinhole is incorporated for restoring systems and retrieving documents in case of a power failure. For security, the nettops include padlock and Kensington lock slots.

The nettops provide a mini PCI Express 1.1 x1 slot for expansion, six USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, high-definition headphone and microphone jacks as well as VGA and serial ports. A wireless keyboard and mouse, Gigabit Ethernet and embedded 802.11 b/g/n WiFi are also included.

The Acer Veriton N282G-UD525W and Veriton N281G-UA425W nettops will be available in North America via Acer authorized resellers in October. Pricing for the Veriton VN282G-UD525W begins at just $449 and the Veriton VN281G-UA425W begins at $399.

New Veriton Desktop Series

Acer is also extending its professional all-in-one desktop line for the U.S. market. The newest model is the Veriton Z410G boasting a high-def 21.5-inch display and full desktop performance. Acer also enhanced its value focused Veriton Z290G all-in-one model featuring an 18.5-inch display with a convenient touch panel and a more powerful Intel Atom processor. The new all-in-ones include Windows 7 Professional and will be available via Acer?s authorized resellers in October with prices beginning at just $599.

Veriton Z410G-UD5700W

The device features a 21.5-inch LCD display (16:9 aspect ratio, 5ms response time and full HD 1920?1080 resolution) and measures 21.6 ? (W) x 19.6- (H) x 5.1-inches (D).

It is powered by an Intel Pentium?Processor E5700 (2MB cache, 3.0GHz, 800MHz FSB) with dual core technology, 2GB DDR3 SDRAM and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 .

The PC offers 8 USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port as well as DVI and VGA ports.

Veriton Z290G-UD525W

The Veriton Z290G-UD525W has a 18.5-inch widescreen LCD monitor and measuring just 19- (W) x 15- (H) x 2.1 -inches (D). It comes with a resistive touch panel and it is powered by an Intel Atom D525 ultra-low-voltage processor (1MB cache, 1.80GHz, Dual Core). There are four USB 2.0 ports for attaching several external devices and it comes with a one year warranty.

All the Essentials The Veriton Z410G and Z2900G both have a multi-in-one card reader, a 320GB hard drive and a SuperMulti drive. Outfitted with 2GB DDR3 SDRAM, both models are upgradeable to 4GB via two memory slots.

Embedded high-definition audio as well as headphone and microphone jacks deliver clear sound. The desktops also include built-in Gigabit Ethernet, a matching PS/2 keyboard and mouse and 802.11b/g wireless .
