 Sharp's STX-2 MediaFLO Phone Available by AT&T

Message Text: Sharp will start shipments of its new STX-2 (FX) quick messaging phone to AT&T in the United States. FX supports AT&T Mobile TV powered by MediaFLO, a multimedia broadcasting service for mobile handsets.

The phone also incorporates social networking service (SNS) applications such as Twitter and Facebook. FX will be available from AT&T, starting July 25, 2010 in the U.S. market.

FX provides user-friendly features with a compact and light weight design incorporating a 3.0-inch WQVGA touch screen LCD and QWERTY keyboard. It supports MediaFLO, which provides access to a maximum of fifteen TV channels, including news, sports, dramas, and music programs. MediaFLO is a mobile broadcasting platform to transmit multimedia contents to mobile handsets, approved as an international standard by ITU (International Telecommunication Union). In 2008, AT&T started a commercial service called "AT&T Mobile TV supporting MediaFLO technology.

The phone's touch screen LCD and QWERTY keyboard enable easy operation and smooth text input. It also supports various SNS, and can be used as a compact SNS terminal for your social life.
