Nintendo's president said Friday that anti-piracy measures will be beefed up in its
planned
new DS-type handheld with 3-D capabilities.
Nintendo believes that game piracy has contributed to the recent drop in game software sales in Europe. As a result, the upcoming 3D device will feature anti-piracy measures, although Nintendo did not go into details on these measures.
Nintendo's new DS-type handheld with 3-D capabilities will not require special glasses in order to enjoy 3D. According to Nintendo, users will be able to switch off the 3D function on the new machine, allowing people to play games, with or without 3-D.
Nintendo's new 3D game machine will be shown at the E3 trade show in Los Angeles next month and it is set to go on sale sometime in the fiscal year through March 2011.
